October 2025
This Spring, I planted some unlabeled watermelon seed...
After the fruit got ripe... They turned into citron melons... Now what?
They taste like cucumbers... I've tried adding to chicken salad sandwiches, I've tried cubed into ramen noodles... still looking for an ideal use that doesn't involve pounds of sugar...
When searching google... seems the South Africans use the leaves and seeds in stews... too late for that, the leaves all fell off the vines...
Labels: butterflies, citron, pawpaw

I’m really jealous about your Pawpaws. I’ve been working on a pawpaw patch for several years. 2025 had about 20 pawpaws, but winds and squirrels got them before they ripened. I was pretty happy that I had so many. In 2024, I only had three or five. They didn’t make it to ripening, either.
Raccoons and possums strip fruit trees... And, break limbs.
If you want pawpaws, persimmons, it's essential to keep possums, raccoons, and even deer away from the trees.
