Good critters and... bad.

Spring 'vegetable' garden...
Tomatoes and melons last summer, poppies and turnips over the winter.... soon, beans n stuff.
Beans and stuff....

Kitties eatin' rutabagas....
Any more rutabagas?

Swallowtail visits coral honeysuckle
nother swallowtail visits mock orange.

And.... hot lips salvia with swallowtail.

Gray treefrog on rain barrel.

Towhee in the branches....
Scarab beetle found a possum turd...

Kudzu bugs are infesting my buckeye bushes.

Leaf foot bugs in the thistles...
Did you ever try to catch leaf foot bugs in the thistles?

7 possum kittens from one mother possum... splains how they can strip a pear tree over-night!
They come for the earthworms in the Spring, and stick around for the pears and melons...

Well, there sure is a lotta nature going on there. I didn't know that cats like rutabegas. They can have all of mine!

I posted a picture of the cats eating cooked rutabagas, but, they also 'rescue' raw turnips and rutabaga out of the compost...
I've been turning the turnip under to make room for the beans and maters... Kinda feels a bit wasteful...
So... You grow rutabagas, but don't eat them?
I'm getting gas this year from these winter greens... They're so good, and I can't eat many.

I love all vegetables ... except for rutabagas and turnips! So, no, I don't grow them.
